I do not know how it goes for you, but if something eat on me, while finishing my shirt. Whence comes this custom?

keep it from the table, no one likes to see that eating while. And was at the site by hand, which is not visible from the best table
I do not know how this custom started, but I think it's only polite when dining room, esp with others. in public.
Towels used to eat on his knees from spilling on their clothes to prevent it.
"As someone said, you can get your hands clean that a discreet manner.
"If you spill things on your shirt while eating, you can make the bib something. I would never do (this seems stupid, IMO), but better than ruining your clothes with food or beverages.
Place the napkin on your lap, is off the table and out of sight when all the evil and dirty. Even if you look at present as a bib so stupid when you eat lobster, I think it's the only time he carries in his shirt is acceptable.
You can use the napkin as a bib. No one will stop you. You have the right to hold ur shirt ur not worry if ur pants or a skirt.
